Alternates appointed hereunder shall have all powers bestowed
upon alternates under this Charter and the Connecticut General Statutes.
Appointment to the panel of alternates will be consistent with the
requirements of the Connecticut minority representation, as set forth
in Section 9-167a of the Connecticut General Statutes, with said panel
being considered a body separate and apart from the Conservation Commission
for determining eligibility for appointment to the panel, at the time
of appointment and in accordance with and consistent with Section
1011 of the New Milford Charter. The adoption of this article shall
not serve to invalidate in any way the appointment of alternates,
or their doings as same, pursuant to said Section 7-131a, and prior
to adoption of this article, but any such prior appointments, shall
be deemed terminated, and null and void, upon the effective date of
this article.
