§ 4A-3. Notice of violation; violation fee.

  • Whenever any police officer determines that a person has violated this chapter, the officer may serve a notice of such violation upon such person. Within 10 days of the issuance of such notice of violation, such person may pay to the clerk of the Police Department a violation fee of $10. Upon the payment of such violation fee, a prosecution under this chapter shall be barred. Should such person elect not to pay the violation fee within such ten-day period, the Police Department may seek an arrest warrant or other process to prosecute such person for the violation of this chapter.
